Ainu robe of attush type, sewn of cloth woven from elm bark (ohyo) fibers with cotton stripes, with indigo dyed cotton cloth appliqué decorated with white cotton chain stitch that frames blue and red cotton couching. The collar of black cotton. From Hokkaido. Meiji era, late 19th century.
