ANDO COMPANY, ENAMEL CARP VASE
Vase in a large baluster form ornamented with designs of swimming carp. Of cloisonné enamels executed in silver wire and musen or wireless technique and applied silver rims. Signed on the reverse in silver wire and enamel with the Ando mark (Ando Company, Nagoya). Showa era, circa 1960 – 1970.
With the tomobako or original box, inscribed on the exterior of the lid: Shippo Gyokuyu Yuri-mon Kabin or Enameled Jade-glazed Playing Carp (Design) Vase; and on the reverse of the lid signed: Ando Shippo-ten Tsukuru or Made by the Ando Company, and sealed: Ando Kinsei or Finely Made by Ando.
